Anyway, heres the scenario:

Mage A attacked Mage B and gain some land...

Mage A casted CoS.. Mage A has Devils.

Mage B countered Mage A... Devils aided Mage A and stack wipe Mage B, mage B losses a hero, Mage B got pissed off. Mage B went to the board and post this. :lol:

Anyway, If i remember previously in Mari, when you counter somebody running CoS, devils should NOT be in his stack because its a counter... Am I right? or... Am I left..

Devils move into combat regardless of the reason.  I mean cmon, you have an army of devils for only 12 hours and you paying them practically everything in your possession....they better get to work, wouldn't want to pay them for nothing.

The only point is that mage A receives more or less devils depending on the situation.

Mage A receives the most devils when countering, less if defending and the less if randoming.

Does anyone have more details?

yea, on counters you should recieve about 10k devils, and i think the same amount on defending.  Not sure on that, and someone said that you recieve about 5k devils on a spell counter.   They'll come out as long as you have population/geld and within the time limit (12 hours).  On randoming you only recieve about 50-60 devils which really sux....they get slaughtered very easily and barely deals any damage.

1000 devils when defending.
10000 devils when countering.

You have COS on for 12 hours or until your pop gets to 0 (or your gold xD). You cannot cast COS until the deomn prince is gone.

Before I complain about the devils....what is the exact upkeep for CoS?

I think it entirely depends on your geld and pop income... I dunno the percentage but... Im  have more than 1M pop and 2M geld.. when I casted COS, it gives me -500K and -400K pop... Before I only get -200K pop or -400K for geld.

^^that's lame. always nice to see dead heroes instead of lost land in your battle reports... If I remember correctly in old AM CoS took 6666 pop/turn in upkeep, plus a hidden pop upkeep, plus a very large geld upkeep. After devils leave and you're stuck with devil prince for 3 days, you're affected by devil prince's hidden mp upkeep. Devil Prince also takes hidden pop upkeep (not really.. kinda) to account for your pop not wanting to come back after what you put them through.

BTW, not joking about geld upkeep. Buy expensive stuff with your geld before you cast it cuz ur going to lose all of it if you move while you have devils there. if you do counter under CoS, expect to have less then 10 million geld left, no matter what you started with.

ok, i've got the exact numbers now. the devils will take 40% of your pop, plus 6666 per turn pop upkeep, and 30% of your geld per turn. need clarification on hidden mp upkeep.

okay for those of you guys who don't know:

Cos changes your pop growth to -110% of the base pop so if u made 100 pop per turn, your now making -10.  In addition, it costs 6666 pop per turn PLUS reduces your pop by half.  Also, you lose 15-50% of your gold every turn.

In return you get devils for 12 hours, and a lvl 666 devil prince (at 30 mill XP, but u don't gain xp with him unless a god challenges and lowers his level).  Now there isn't any set amount of devils u get, its random generated like black sabbath.
for randoms its 50-250
for defense its 9k-11k
for counters (including spells) its 10-13.5k

ON ARMAGEDDON cos gives you from 25-250 devils for randoms, counters, and defense (so its totally useless then).

Contract, at any level, takes away the gold and item u get from pillages and offers it to satan (not really but you should get satans favor for casting cos).

I had the EDIT Devil prince for 3 weeks, and it shoud have left me in less than a week, i think the admins have to change that. i think the devils stay more than 12 hours with you..... have to check that out

So far i spent 600 turns with him...And so far, we're pretty much like old buddies.   ONly problem is my population are semi-angry...But no rebellions as of yet.  But I also seem to have a lot more immigration now, than before i casted cos

So far for the Devil Prince, I haven't seen the attributes of it like during the Mari years.  It was very difficult to obtain full population/mana and regular geld income.  Back in the day, Casting cos was the easiest thing to do, the medium was doing your counter runs, and the hardest was surviving from the devil prince.  But in here, it is a joke.  He seems to not need anything...Or so it seems...I dunt pillage nor tribute during cos, cuz in theory it is useless.  But rebuilding your pop, and geld are easily done.  The only thing we have to seriously worry about is that you don't over counter or run during the initial 12 hours.  Otherwise, there are no deep consequences of the devils here....So next time i cos, imma wait for more availiable counters

I've noticed with the Devil Prince, he keeps your final geld income negative...or at least for my experience here with him.  He doesn't seem to affect mp much at all.

Yes that is exactly what the devil prince does... nothing.. but take note, hes a level 26 hero... so you also have to pay his upkeep... he will offer all your tribute or pillages to satan, so don't bother pillaging or tribute.

Well, As I recall you just have to pay the upkeep for the Devil prince. No other hidden upkeep.. Of course we are talking about post-COS
