Rushing is cool!

So there\'s a reset coming up soon, and it\'ll be my first in this new 300 max turn game.    Since hanging back, researching, and hoping nobody attacks me is boring, I\'m gonna try to rush up to the top spot and stay there as long as I can while researching.



 My question to all of you is:  what can I expect from others around me who are doing the same thing?   I\'m not asking for specific strategies (I\'m certainly not planning to share mine...), but a general idea of what to expect in terms of land/power level would be cool.  



 I\'ve experimented around a bit, and I can now get to about 6 million power with about 2100 land and a reasonably good stacking (for the first turnset) after 300 turns.  Will that be enough to compete?

OK...



since nobody is currently close enough to me in power for me to hit, people either a) aren\'t rushing, or could use some tips in how to do it.  



So here\'s free advice for anyone who wants it:



#1)  don\'t explore all at once.  Explore for 20 turns, build a bunch of workshops, explore for a few more turns, build buildings, explore more, build more, etc.   This especially holds true for farms/towns.



#2)  When building workshops, build 1 turn at a time, building the max number each time.  First turn, build 5, then 5 more on the next turn, then 6 more on the next turn, etc.   You\'ll save a lot of turns this way.   Using this method, it takes about 28 turns to build to 599 workshops.  Building all at once from the beginning, it would take about 110 turns to build to 599 workshops.

       If there\'s a fraction equal to or greater than .5 in the number of workshops you can build, also build 1 farm.  (example:  if you can build 10.5 workshops in a turn, build 10 workshops and 1 farm - then next turn you\'ll be able to build 11.5 workshops in a turn, so build 11 workshops and 1 farm.)



#3)  Build to 599 workshops for the time you\'ll be making most of your buildings - and then destroy 300 workshops and convert them into some other buildings afterwards.  Again, you\'ll save turns in the long run.   Building 500 nodes and 900 guilds takes 110 turns with 299 workshops, but only 55 turns with 599 workshops.

Right now, I\'m a guildless wonder.



I just discovered this site shortly before the last reset, and am trying to get a feel for things before trying to join any guilds.    I still have pretty far to go.  (see: my ignorance in the thread I started in the \'Council\' forum)

I\'m flattered by the offer, Revenger...



I can\'t make a decision just yet - I need to discuss with my allies (Zachariah #47, Zair #252).   (both currently in top 10)



They\'re my pals from real life, and I\'d like for the three of us to be able to agree on what to do.    



So for now I can\'t make any promises... but... would they be invited too?
